Know how-to translate an 'Open Source Software' from English into your Local Language

Hi Friends,
As u know these days most of them started admiring the GNU's Free / Open Source Software for example, the GNU/Linux OS, OpenOffice, GIMP, GAIM etc., to try something new just for the fun of it and also because they do not have any licence tags attached to them.

We as well know how many of us using messenger applications such as Yahoo, MSN, GAIM etc., chat with our friends in our Local Language. Wouldnt it be nice if we had these applications have us Royally chat in our language., I mean our Local Language files built into the software package?

Well nothing stops at imagination these days... Today i found this great article on localizing any Open Source Software (OSS) into a language of your choice. Its a great software and open source developers all over the world are trying to add new functionalties and improve the ease-of-use on a regular basis. It takes good amount of time to learn/try/contribute to such stuff. But it is definetely worth a try.

Enjoy the package in a language of ur choice.

Regards,
Sai
